Creative play in 4K!
"Jail the Mice," is a game where 4K can use their imagination and color coordination. The 4K students enjoyed using their skills to chase the running "mice" as they scampered under the curtain into the court. Then once caught, the mice patrol were able to put each mouse in their team's colored hula hoop. This kept the students scampering and squealing, in hopes of playing one more round of catching those pesky mice this time of year!

Events for Thursday, December 1st.

The giving tree hosted by the National Honor Society has an update of a few additional slots to pick from. If you missed out on selecting a student last week there is still time to support additional students. The additional slots will benefit students at the school throughout the school year. Rockton Bar also has a few names left on their tree if you would like additional options. If you have any questions, let Heidi Rastall know at rastallh@lafarge.k12.wi.us. Thank you for supporting our students and families! All gifts need to be returned to the school by Friday, December 16th. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D45A4AB2BAAF9C16-virtual2

Donations can be dropped off in the wrapped boxes in the front entry way, and all items are greatly appreciated. Gently used items are perfect! Tools, games, knick knacks, toys, puzzles you name it! The High School Student Council greatly appreciates all help during this time. It's a great opportunity for them to witness the holiday spirit!

Check out our "Thankful Tree" that greets students and staff upon entering our building this week! Sources of Strength has been sponsoring activities to practice gratitude and reflect on all the things we are thankful for. Middle school students created the paper chain garland while high schoolers contributed leaves of gratitude to the tree. Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to these students who were recognized at our elementary assembly today for showing others compassion and making our school a great place to be!

Mrs. Brandl's 10th grade English students reluctantly took a break from their short fiction project to pose for a selfie. They're starting fiction from an assigned theme and developing a story with a fully developed set of characters, a well-designed setting, and a clear conflict.

Some people say that “Magic” happens in the Speech Room! Students magically learn how to make sounds correctly and, before you know it, they are speaking clearly and talking all the time!
One of the ways that magic happens is by learning through various play-based activities, carpet time, and table time. Students learn to match letter sounds with letter symbols while working on the ABC rug. They learn how to put the sounds they learned into words through play-based activities like the doll house, farm yard, play-dough, etc.

All 6th grade students have a study skills class twice a week. They have spent the fall learning how to prioritize, stay organized, ask questions if they need help, and the ins-and-outs of being middle school students! As the year goes on this class will learn techniques for taking notes, using their textbooks, setting goals, and having a growth mindset. This group of Wildcats has a bright future!

The 4K friends have been learning about patterns. Today they completed a Turkey Tail Pattern book where they had the opportunity to color the each turkey's feathers in a ABAB pattern. We do activities like this in the 4K room because it helps students learn the content while being engaged.

Mrs. Fowell is looking for a little help setting up for the honors band. She will start setting up tonight at 7 pm in the gym and band room. Please come if you are able, many hands make light work.
