No school on Friday, December 9th. Stay safe!

Art can be used to express your feelings, relieve stress, make a social statement or even tell a story. For the past few months elementary students in Mrs. Benson’s room have been learning history through art, the 1980’s! They were introduced to artists, gadgets, and other forms of entertainment from the decade. Combined with the musical efforts of Mrs. Michaels, the students put on a pretty gnarly and totally awesome fine arts night with glowing artwork and masterpieces from all ages!

Come join us for a blast from the past! The 80’s are invading the elementary. Fine arts night begins at 5:30 with the 4K-5th grade art show followed by the 4K-2nd grade concert starting at 6pm and the 3rd-5th at 7pm. It’s sure to be a totally awesome time!

A big Wildcat thank you to Vernon County ADRC and Climb Theater for presenting the play, "Grandpa and Lucy" to our elementary students. The students really enjoyed the interactive presentation and learned about how we can care for family members who have dementia.

There's a lot of things that happen in Mrs. Keenan's room. In there students get the opportunity for sensory breaks, math homework help, alphabet learning, and so much more.

The middle school students decorated classroom doors for a holiday contest. This gives students the opportunity to work together and get creative.

Girls Basketball Tuesday, December 6th

The National Honor Society is teaming up with the American Red Cross by hosting a blood drive on Friday, December 9th from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. The blood drive is at the La Farge School Gym. Events for Tuesday, December 6th.

Students in Transportation and Energy have been working hard designing and building a bike generator. The purpose of the project is to learn about electricity and how it's generated and produced. This week the group reached some major milestones where they actually got the bike running and produced power to energize a few devices. The students thought it was pretty cool when they connected the bike to the 18 volt milwaukee shop radio and got it to work only while pedaling, when they stopped pedaling the radio stopped working. They have also been very surprised at the amount of work it takes to generate electricity. They have attempted to run a cordless drill, but their legs aren't quite strong enough to energize a tool that requires that much power. The class's future goal is to purchase a 12v blender and set the bike up for students to make their own smoothies with some pedal power!

Come support!!🐾💜

National Honor Society students are hosting a new stuffed animal drive. All donations will be donated to local hospitals and emergency services to help children during tough situations over the winter holidays. We are collecting stuffed animals until Friday, December 16th. There are four drop of locations: La Farge Schools, La Farge State Bank, La Farge Village Office, and Lawton Memorial Library. Each location has a drop box with the poster on it. Thank you for you continued support of the National Honor Society projects.

Events for Monday, December 5th.

Family Journals are one of the 1st Graders favorite activities!!! On the last day of each week, students have the opportunity to respond to family members about exciting things happening at home and school! They write a small response and draw a picture. We love making connections with families!
